Summer is here! - Enjoy Fort Lauderdale's Dog Beach.

Pets and people are looking for places to chill out; have some fun, and enjoy South Florida's beautiful beaches!

Fort Lauderdale' Canine Beach is the perfect place to spend a day under sun along with our canine friends!
Canine Beach is located on Sunrise Boulevard at A1A in Fort Lauderdale. From the center line of Sunrise Boulevard at A1A north to Lifeguard Stand # 5. The Canine Beach is about 100-yard section of beach.
It is open Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays all year-round. Summer Hours are 5 pm – 9 pm

Annual and One-Weekend Permits are available:

  • $30 per dog, tax included (Fort Lauderdale Residents)
  • $45 per dog, tax included (Non-Residents)
  • One-Weekend Permit (Friday, Saturday and Sunday) - $7 per dog. One-Weekend Permits may be purchased from the Park Ranger on duty at Canine Beach.
  • Annual permit must be purchased in person at 1350 West Broward Boulevard (9 am – 4 pm, Monday – Friday). Future renewals can be handled by mail.
Extra pooper scoopers are available, if needed. Please see the Park Ranger on duty.

Petco National Adoption Event!


This event will take place May 22nd and 23rd at Petco locations across the USA. The goal is simple: To find homes for pets in need.

Petco is hoping to reach 5,000 adoptions during this adoption drive and their commitment to Think Adoption First.

Green Dog Day Festival in Fort Lauderdale!


Sunday May 16th from 12 to 5P.M. on 13th Street between Dixie Highway and Flagler in Fort Lauderdale, presented by the 13th Street Alliance and South River District.


The Grand Charity of the 2010 Green Dog Day Festival is The Pet Project. The mission of The The Pet Project is to enable people living with HIV/AIDS or other disabling condition to keep their pets by providing pet care and ongoing support.
 
Enjoy a full day of fun for canines and their human-companions! Live Entertainment thorought the event, hosted by MC- Tedd Marefka, food and vendors!
 
Register early to some of the activities and contests:
  • Best look-alike contest; dogs that best resemble their owners.
  • Best Barker/ Howler.
  • Best Dressed Canine.
  • Ugliest dog (beauty is more than skin deep).
  • Raffles and prizes, including 2 tickets to San Juan, P.R., tickets to SeaWorld Orlando, and many more great prizes!
The mission of the Green Dog Day Festival is to unite the neighborhoods of the South River District and showcase the talents, neighborhoods and local businesses through the event benefiting shelter dogs and animals through donations, education, and adoption.

Its secondary mission is to promote green and healthy living through the horticulture vendors, educational presenters and farmers market.
