“Art for Bark”: Help the animals of the Florida Keys affected by Hurricane Irma


Come and join fellow pet lovers Friday, Nov. 17th at the Riverside Hotel for “Art for Bark” and help raise funds for the Florida Keys SPCA.  Enjoy Happy Hour Cocktails, discover local artists, mingle and network with other animal enthusiasts and meet the amazing team of the Florida Keys SPCA

The event features an Art Auction and a raffle with fantastic prizes including:

  • Spa Treatments
  • Gym Packages and more!
Your donation helps the animals at The Florida Keys SPCA; a completely independent, private, not-for-profit organization working to place all adoptable animals into caring, loving, lifelong homes. Hurricane Irma caused significant damage throughout the Florida Keys and the region is still recovering.

Please RSVP by securing your tickets by November 10th. Tickets are only $20 in advance - $25 at the Door. It is all for a good cause!

Blessing of the Animals


The Humane Society of Broward County is having a Blessing of the Animals on Sunday, October 8 at 3:00 PM - 3:30 PM. All pet parents are welcome to bring their special furry friends. This custom is conducted in remembrance of Saint Francis of Assisi’s love for all creatures. It also celebrates the Feast of St. Francis, the patron saint of animals.

The Franciscan Friars of The Parish of Sts. Francis & Clare will perform the Blessing that it will be held outside in the East Yard at the Humane Society.

Pets of all kinds are welcome! Please make sure to have your pet on a leash or in a secured carrier.

Barktoberfest at Quiet Waters Park!


Barktoberfest is October 7 and 8 at Quiet Waters Park!

Activities run from 8 a.m. to 4:50 p.m. and include:
  • Doggie Splash time ($5/dog 50-minute sessions in the water)
  • Pet Adoptions
  • Doggie Market Place
  • Kiddie bounce houses & face painting
  • Pet costume contest and more!
  • Admission to the event is FREE!

The park's regular weekend and holiday gate entrance fee of $1.50/person (children 5 and under free) will be in effect.
