Santa Paws is coming to town!

The Cat Network is calling on all Santas, Mrs. Claus' and Santa's Elves to participate at Santa Paws Holiday Photos at Petsmart!. The cost is only $10 and part of the proceeds will benefit The Cat Network.

Volunteers are wanted!

Santa Paws Holiday Photos will be held from 11 am until 4 pm at several Petco locations.

Come have Fun with Santa Paws and all of his Elves and helping a great cause!

K9 Water Festivals in Broward County Parks

November means fun in the water! Broward County Parks and Recreation Division is hosting the K-9 Water Festivals!

All dogs, 4 months and older are invited to have a splashing good time at selected county parks. Fee is $5 per dog for a 50-minute session. First session begins at 9 a.m. and last session begins at 4 p.m. (small dogs only at the 4 p.m. session). Sessions start on the hour every hour
.

Before you head out the door with your best friend, keep in mind:

  • All dogs must have a current rabies vaccine and license tag
  • Water playground will be closed to humans. Only dogs and lifeguards allowed.
  • Donations will be accepted to benefit homeless animals at Broward County Animal Shelters.
  • Enjoy! Have a good time! Send me your best pictures!

Le Chat Noir, an Evening of Cats, Cocktails & Couture

The Cat Network announces the inaugural Le Chat Noir (the Black Cat) event, Saturday October 2nd at 7pm.

The dual soiree and fundraiser will celebrate the elegant glamour of the black cat in an evening of old-Hollywood style in black and silver fashion, hors d’ouevres and cocktails.

This event is designed to educate the public about the plight of homeless cats, specifically the black cat who has suffered an unlucky reputation and have the lowest rate of adoption in shelters.

Live DJ music, cuisine, and cocktails courtesy of Bacardi and Smith & Wollensky will lavish and entertain guests. Attendees may also participate in a silent auction with all proceeds benefiting The Cat Network, Inc., a non-profit organization dedicated to helping homeless cats. Tickets to Le Chat Noir are priced at $50 in advance or $75 at the door.


Le Chat Noir will shine at Wolfgang Roth & Partners, Fine Art. The gallery is located at 201 NE 39 Street in Miami’s Design District.

Party with the huskies on Thursday, September 23 from 6 to 9 p.m. at America's Backyard in Downtown Fort Lauderdale.

Yappy Hour benefits South Florida Siberian Husky Rescue, your $10 donation includes the following:

The Pet Project for Pets is hosting a Pet Bingo Night at the Depot on Tuesday, August 17, 2010 from 8-10pm.

Summer is here! - Enjoy Fort Lauderdale's Dog Beach.

Pets and people are looking for places to chill out; have some fun, and enjoy South Florida's beautiful beaches!

Fort Lauderdale' Canine Beach is the perfect place to spend a day under sun along with our canine friends!
Canine Beach is located on Sunrise Boulevard at A1A in Fort Lauderdale. From the center line of Sunrise Boulevard at A1A north to Lifeguard Stand # 5. The Canine Beach is about 100-yard section of beach.
It is open Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays all year-round. Summer Hours are 5 pm – 9 pm

Annual and One-Weekend Permits are available:

  • $30 per dog, tax included (Fort Lauderdale Residents)
  • $45 per dog, tax included (Non-Residents)
  • One-Weekend Permit (Friday, Saturday and Sunday) - $7 per dog. One-Weekend Permits may be purchased from the Park Ranger on duty at Canine Beach.
  • Annual permit must be purchased in person at 1350 West Broward Boulevard (9 am – 4 pm, Monday – Friday). Future renewals can be handled by mail.
Extra pooper scoopers are available, if needed. Please see the Park Ranger on duty.

Green Dog Day Festival in Fort Lauderdale!


Sunday May 16th from 12 to 5P.M. on 13th Street between Dixie Highway and Flagler in Fort Lauderdale, presented by the 13th Street Alliance and South River District.


The Grand Charity of the 2010 Green Dog Day Festival is The Pet Project. The mission of The The Pet Project is to enable people living with HIV/AIDS or other disabling condition to keep their pets by providing pet care and ongoing support.
 
Enjoy a full day of fun for canines and their human-companions! Live Entertainment thorought the event, hosted by MC- Tedd Marefka, food and vendors!

Calling All Animal Lovers! The Pet Care Fair and 1-Mile Fun Walk!

Join Us For The Pet Care Fair and 1-Mile Fun Walk!

Registration starts at 8:30 a.m. The FREE 1 Mile Fun Walk begins at 9:30 a.m.

Walk participants will receive an ASPCA bandana and goody bag complete with product samples and coupons from pet care sponsors. Donations are encouraged, and all proceeds will benefit the Humane Society of Greater Miami, Miami-Dade Animal Services and The Cat Network.

Humane Society of Broward County Vaccination Clinic this weekend!


  • Saturday, March 20th, 2010  from 7:00am-9:00am for kitty cats only.
  • Sunday, March 21st, 2010  from 7:00am - 11:00am for doggies only.
In addition to all required vaccines, they will be offering additional services at a low cost that are essential to maintain our best friends healthy and safe:

  • Heartworm test for doggies

  • Puppies and kittens packages

WALK FOR THE ANIMALS to Benefit the Humane Society of Broward County - March 6, 2010

The event, presented by VCA Animal Hospitals, will take place on Saturday, March 6th, 2010 at Huizenga Plaza in Downtown Fort Lauderdale.

Registration opens at 8:00 a.m. and the 1.25 mile walk begins at 10:00 a.m.

You can walk with a dog, form a pack, or go by yourself!


All money raised goes to support the shelter and its programs. The Humane Society of Broward County is a private, non-profit organization that relies on donations from people and companies who want to make a difference for homeless animals.

2nd Annual Pugs & Pooches WinterBark 2010!

Compassionate Pug Rescue will be holding their 2nd Annual Pugs & Pooches WinterBark 2010!

The event will be on January 23, 2010 at the South County Regional Park at Sunset Cove in Boca Raton, Florida from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

  • Admission is free!
  • Featuring PBC Sheriff Animal Kindness Unit
  • All well behaved dogs are welcome to attend!


Rescue groups and local vendors will be educating the public about rescue organizations, information on spay and neutering your pets, caring for your elderly pets.

The event will be held at the South County Regional Park at Sunset Cove [Near Canine Cove Dog Park] located at 12251 Glades Road, Boca Raton, FL. The park entrance is located 2.5 miles west of US 441 and North Side of Glades Road. Parking is $5.

All proceeds from the event will benefit
Compassionate Pug Rescue and their continued efforts to rescue Pugs within the South Florida area.
